Dead And Dying (NY) Nearing Release Of Debut "The Prosecution Rests" Feat. Members Of Dying Breed



Troy, NY-based Dead And Dying, the reincarnation of legendary Step Up Presents and Stillborn recording artist Dying Breed, are preparing to release their debut full-length titled "The Prosecution Rests" in the coming month. The super-group also features members of Troy notables War-Time Manner, Flat Broke, and Last Call, and have been performing shows in and around their hometown since forming in 2007. The band has previously released popular demo, for which material was re-recorded for their upcoming full-length.

Helmet (NY) Prepares To Release "Seeing Eye Dog" In September; U.S. & Canadian Tour Announced



Seminal rock band Helmet will release a new full-length album, "Seeing Eye Dog", on September 7. The band's first LP since 2006's critically acclaimed "Monochrome" and its seventh album overall will be made available on the indie Work Song label (with physical distribution by Redeye and direct-to-fan digital delivery by Topspin). The CD was produced by band leader, vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Page Hamilton, with additional production by Toshi Kasai and vocal production by Mark Renk.

"Seeing Eye Dog" is being paired with a bonus disc of live material recorded at the Vans Warped Tour in San Francisco 2006.

Oh, Sleeper guitarist Shane Blay recently took to his Facebook to explain why ‘mid-level bands’ make little money on the road. You can find his take on the situation below:

“Hey Everyone,

For the past 5 years my brothers in Oh, Sleeper and myself have sacrificed our lives, our time, relationships, birthdays, holidays, health(haha) to travel around and play shows for our fans. Not to say that isn’t been a fun ride!

Cataract (CH) Finish Recording New Full-Length For Metal Blade



Swiss thrashers Cataract have finished recording their new album, "Killing The Eternal", at Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark with longtime producer Tue Madsen. A September 27 European release (three days earlier in Germany) via Metal Blade Records is expected.

Commented singer Federico "Fedi" Carminitana: "We're more than happy to announce that after almost one incredible month at the Antfarm studio in Denmark, our next full-length is finally ready! Recording, mixing and mastering is done and we can't wait for the record to be released!

Quebec, Canada metal festival Heavy MTL has announced the full schedule for the two days. It will run July 24 and July 25 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Bands like Megadeth, Korn, Baptized In Blood, Hail The Villain are all performing this year. Day one is the Canadian Carnage Tour and day two is Rockstar Mayhem Tour. Look below for the schedule.

Heavy MTL started up in 2008 drawing in a crowd of 36,000 people. Some of the artists who performed were Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, 3 Inches Of Blood, Hatebreed, Shadows Fall and more. Make sure you join in for this big metal event.
