The Acacia Strain (MA) Joined By Summon The Insects, ex-Burn In Silence Guitarist; Live Video Available

Massachusetts mosh machine The Acacia Strain recently added the services of current Summon The Insects and former Burn In Silence guitarist Mike Casavant. With the departure of rhythm guitarist Dave Sroka, the Boston native has become The Acacia Strain's lone touring guitarist for the moment while the band's founding guitarist and primary songwriter, Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz, tends to his new baby at home. While Mike Casavant has reportedly already composed a handful of songs for The Acacia Strain's follow-up to their breakthrough album "Continent," there is no word yet on whether this material will make it onto the album. For the moment, DL remains the band's primary songwriter and recording guitarist. Mike Casavant's first band, former Prosthetic recording artists Burn In Silence, has proven to be quite the springboard for prominent guitarists in the current metalcore and death metal scenes; his former bandmates Max Lavallee and Al Glassman have since moved onto high-profile stints in Despised Icon and Job For A Cowboy, respectively. HARDTIMES.CA recently conducted a video interview with Mike during The Acacia Strain's recent stop in Burlington, Vermont as part of Hatebreed's Stillborn Fest mini-tour. The interview features a very special cameo from Crowbar's Kirk Windstein. Watch the interview below:
