Out of the ashes from one of Syracuse's pioneers of metalcore, the band Infusion, came Blood Runs Black. A more aggressive, heavier, determined group the band gained local success by being able to cross-over from playing the metal and hardcore scenes seamlessly. After playing countless shows and recording a few demos the band finally landed a deal with the label Harvest Records out of Pennsylvania headed by Vince Spina of Edgewise fame. In the winter of 1995 the band headed down to the famous Morrisound Studios in Tampa Florida to record the 6 song EP entitled "Cast Into Eternity Within Duration Of A Moment".

With more shows and a mini east coast tour under their belt it seemed things were looking up. Unfortunately though like most bands the revolving door of members and the lack of a full-time band work ethic the band broke up before their full potential was realized. Members went on to join or start successful bands such as: Earth Crisis, Soulstice, Farthest Man, Hermon Dekalb, Godbelow, Darker Day Tomorrow, Santa Sangre, Freya, Sanford Wilkes, Brand New Sin, The Last Season, Sandusky, Devil His Due, All Hell Breaks Loose, Unholy, and Ledyard just to name a few.
