Reliable sources have confirmed that legendary guitarist Matt Henderson has started a new project with members of Hatebreed, Terror, and Trapped Under Ice. The news comes less than a year since Hatebreed covered Madball's "Set It Off" for their covers record and E1 Music debut, "For The Lions." Henderson was recently in the studio with Californian hardcore icons Terror laying down guitar tracks for the band's upcoming album Keepers Of The Faith, the blog entry for which can be seen here: http://www.pickrset.com/keepersofthefaith/?p=486 No further information about the project is available at the moment, however a recent six-part written interview with Henderson has been posted by the Double Cross Webzine, for which all six parts are available in the links section below. The lengthy interview covers the guitarist's humble beginnings in 80's hardcore group Blind Approach and the Minneapolis punk and hardcore scene, then follows him to New York, where he joined up with Agnostic Front and Madball for many years, until leaving the music scene entirely just under ten years ago. Madball's longstanding and trusted guitarist and songwriter, Matt Henderson helped shape the band's trademark metallic hardcore groove approach with his hefty contributions to the bulk of their catalog, including "Droppin' Many Suckers" (1992), "Set If Off" (1994), "Demonstrating My Style" (1996), "Look My Way" (1998), "Hold It Down" (2000), "NYHC EP" (2004), and select tracks from "Legacy" (2005). He was also heavily involved in Agnostic Front for a number of years, most notably on the band's "One Voice" LP (1992), which saw them support Obituary and Malevolent Creation the same year, among other notables. In recent years, the continued prominence of Madball (without Henderson) has immortalized Henderson's recordings with the band, and the band's style is increasingly finding itself as both the modern definition and benchmark of metallic hardcore.
