Darkside NYC, the cult New York act that unexpectedly reunited in late 2002 and are notorious for their distinct blend of hardcore and death metal, are currently in the studio preparing for a double CD/LP of brand new material.
Darkside NYC are one of the most closely related bands to the infamous All Out War, sharing drummer Joe Branciforte, and with Darkside frontman Rich O'Brien having provided guest vocals on All Out War's last album "Assassins In The House Of God."
Further information from the band about Darkside NYC's upcoming release can be seen below:
"2010: Volume I is just about done. Mixing sessions will occur in June. It was a long wait but the material is absolutely fucking incredible - especially all the songs we made up on the spot!
Optimism is self-deception: Volume I - 2010
Optimism is self-deception: Volume II - 2011
To be released on Satan Wears Suspenders.
We will also be digging in the crates for bonus material to include on the complete demo discography...that's another release entirely.
A lot of you muthafuckaz are gonna bug out on the new shit; that's guaranteed. Old school punk/hardcore mixed with NYHC mixed with deathcore mixed with crazy death/black/thrash metal. And some surprises!
(You may notice I did not say 'metalcore' - if that's the bullshit you're into, keep it moving...this musical term did not exist when we were around, and we do not associate ourselves with it)
No upcoming shows planned at this time; we're staying busy on the studio shit."
